Residency Programs

Special Needs Patients

This program prepares you to work on a health care team consisting of multiple specialists who work together to treat patients with complex medical, behavioral and anatomical problems.

You will learn to develop treatment plans for these special-needs patients and treat them in the operating room under direct supervision of faculty.

Operating-room protocol with hands-on training is covered for both inpatient and outpatient surgery. You also will learn to develop:

  • Pre- and post-operative orders.
  • Progress notes.
  • Descriptions of surgical procedures.
  • Discharge orders and summaries.
