Medicine

The Department of Medicine has an attending staff of approximately 350 physicians and oversees 400 of the 1,100 plus beds in Christiana Care hospitals. Our medical staff serves a diverse patient mix providing exceptional care as we diagnose and treat a broad spectrum of primary-care diseases, as well as tertiary care medical conditions, not routinely encountered in smaller hospital settings. The ongoing opportunity to teach medical students is also important. Our qualified and experienced general internists and subspecialists take a friendly and enthusiastic approach to teaching and mentoring. This helps to ensure a superior clinical medicine.
