For Health Professionals
Lunch Seminars
Purpose of this activity: To inform Christiana Care physicians and residents of the latest results in outcomes research and quality of care, mostly in the field of cardiovascular disease but also in other fields of medicine such as nephrology, endocrinology, internal medicine etc.
This series of lectures/conferences will provide a forum where the latest clinical trials or the most recent epidemiologic study will be reviewed. The ultimate goal of this series is to provide tools that will allow the clinicians to critically review and comment clinical-trials results from the medical literature or results publicized from the general media.
Objectives for the lecture series:
- To identify the most important clinical trials or epidemiological study that will lead to changes in guidelines for the care of specific cardiovascular disease or any other disease.
- To understand the elements that make these studies especially important (number of patients involved, study design, appropriate statistical methods, generalization to the population).
- To be able to critically review the medical literature.
- To be able to question results publicized by the general media.
Please check back for the 2010 schedule of lunch seminars.
