High School Explorer Post

The Explorer Post of Christiana Care gives students ages 14–21 an opportunity to shadow medical professionals to learn about the training, duties and rewards of today's health care professions. The Explorer Post has been sponsored by a variety of departments within Christiana Care, including Women's & Children's Health, Surgery, Infectious Disease, the Allied Health Schools, Emergency Medicine and the Center for Heart & Vascular Health.

Monthly Explorer Post meetings focus on health care career opportunities from a behind-the-scenes perspective. Explorer Post members also participate in New Castle County's annual disaster drill. As mock disaster victims, they simulate the injured and are triaged and transported for emergency medical care. Explorer service projects include holiday window painting at Christiana Hospital.
