Below you will find a list of Medical-Dental Staff Committees of Christiana Care that carry out functions delegated to the Medical-Dental Staff by the Board.

Bylaws Committee
Purpose	To regularly review and update the Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, and other policies of the Medical-Dental Staff; and recommend changes to the Medical Executive Committee.
Chair	David Bercaw, M.D.
Schedule	2^nd Tuesday of the month at Noon
Staff Credentials Committee
Purpose	Reviews the credentials of all applicants for appointment and reappointment to Medical-Dental Staff. This committee also reviews all applicants seeking to practice as credential health care providers (e.g., advanced practice nurses, physician assistants, and optometrists).

Schedule	3^rd Wednesday of the month at Noon.
Graduate Medical Education Committee
Purpose	This committee has the overall responsibility of planning, coordinating, approving and evaluating the educational programs of the various departments, including undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate.

Schedule	4^th Wednesday of the month 12:00-2:00 p.m.
Nominating Committee
Purpose	This committee identifies qualified candidates from the Medical-Dental Staff for positions of President Elect, Secretary-Treasurer, and for At-Large positions of the Medical Executive Committee.
Chair	Immediate Past President of the Staff
Schedule	Ad hoc basis.
Medical- Dental Staff Peer Review Committee
Purpose	This committee oversees the three performance areas of the Peer Review Process: Administrative, Clinical and Behavioral.
Chair	President, Medical-Dental Staff
Schedule	2^nd Friday of each month at 7:00 a.m.
Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee
Purpose	Oversee the safe use of medication throughout the institution.

Infection Control Committee
Chair	Marci L. Drees, M.D.
Schedule	3^rd Monday of the month from Noon to 1:30 p.m.
Nutrition Care Functional Improvement Committee
Purpose	Oversees the provision of appropriate nutrition care to include the delivery of food and nutrition therapy throughout the organization.

Schedule	3^rd Tuesday per quarter at Noon unless otherwise noted
Radiation Safety Committee
Purpose	Monitors the radiation safety program and the safe use of machine-produced radiation as well.

Code Blue
Purpose	Oversees the inpatient program for response to medical emergencies

Schedule	1^st Monday of every other month at 2:30 p.m.
Critical Care
Purpose	Oversees the quality of services within critical care and special care units

Pain and Palliative Care
Purpose	Attends to, improves, and coordinates Pain Management and Palliative Care throughout the institution as well as within the community at large.

Ethics
Purpose	This committee provides the framework to address ethical issues that arise throughout the organization.
